My 53 plate avf avant has went into limp mode.
I was travelling on the motorway, when the glow plug light and the traction control light came on.
The throttle pedal was non responsive so I turned ignition off and back on and all was fine for about 10-15 seconds then the same happened.
The car will start and idle between 12-1300rpm
I have tried to see if there are any fault codes but neither of the 2 code readers I tried would connect with the engine ECU.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What code readers were you using? I would try getting it scanned with VCDS.

Thanks Chris for the quick reply. One reader is a super Vag K plus and the other is an Autel Maxidiag MD801.Both readers have worked fine on other vag cars.

Hi Zollaf, this is the first time I've tried them on my own car. previously used them on golfs, boras and a 09 plate A4, with no problems.
