    Hi all

I have a working cable with 30-pin connector for iPhone 4s.

I purchased what I was told was the correct cable from Audi for the Lightning connector. I tried this with iPhone 5s and 6 but both do not work. Audi said I needed a white cable based on my spec and the cable does have a white ring. Any thoughts before I take this back?

    Thanks

I'm using a lightning adapter with no issues. Genuine Apple one though.

There are so many mate it's hard to know. Thought the Lightning cables had green or yellow bands on?

There is a thread on here somewhere about it

There two audi ami cables with lightening connectors. Go to your dealer and get them to try them on site.

if neither work, use you old iPhone 4 cable with a genuine Apple lightening adapter. This will definately work!

Thanks guys for the replies. Audi said there are 3 different colours based on the system but obviously got that wrong. The lightning adapter might work out cheaper too.

    Thanks again.

Evening. Thought I would share an update. Trying a genuine lightning adapter didn't work with the existing 30 pin cable. Went to dealer and he said Apple and Audi work together on iOS updates to stop accessories like that working. We tested different colour lighting cables at the dealer and my yellow one started to work and picked up my 5s. He did mention the cable may not work for iPhone 6 and he's kind of right. The car does pick up the 6 and plays music for a few seconds then bombs out. It's a brand new 6 so doubt the pins are damaged. Oh well, 5s works for now.
