    Hi

I have a 15 month old Passat 1.9TDI estate which has had no problems since new until now.
Last night it was locked as per normal and all was still Ok this morning. Sometime during the morning ALL FOUR WINDOWS opened fully whilst the car remained locked.
Anyone else had this problem..it might be a 'one off' but it's a security worry !!

You're right it's a security worry, but also a "getting soaked" worry if it rains and you don't notice. Is there a chance that something was resting on the keys overnight? Only if you press unlock on the remote and keep it held down you'll get the same effect.

Might be worth turning that facility off as a temporary measure - more so if you never use it.

    Thanks for the prompt reply.
I didn't realise that keeping the button held down had that effect so it may well be an explanation as I probably had had the keys in my pocket around the house.

I presume I'll need the dealership to do a software change to disable that function (which I haver never used and can't see much possibility of me ever intentionally using !)
I'll ask when I go for a service.

    Thanks

You can disable the window function yourself from the car's options menu - no need to go to the dealer.

The windows down feature is useful on a hot summer day when you don't want to get into the car until it's cooled down a bit!

The windows up facility is more useful if you park, get out and then realise you've left a window open.

Have a look at the Driver's Manual, booklet 3.1, page 12 onwards - lists how to access the options etc. Have fun.....
