Howdy folks. I have a 1999 1.8gti turbo, 149k on the clock. I recently changed the lower wishbones and the front strut upper mounts (all within a few hundred miles), for the MOT. The car is behaving very strangely though (thought the front strut mounts would sort the issue) which is that when i accelerate the car pulls to the right, and as soon as i let my foot off the throttle the car pulls to the left. It isnt veering gradually, it pulls quite instantly. You can sort of feel it through the steering wheel too. The fron left enine mount is new as is the lower torsion mount, as of two yesterday BTW. Ant sugestions very welcome. I havent checked the steering articualrly as the car has a fresh MOT as of two weeks ago.
    Thanks.

Were the problems existing before the steering units were changed, and did the car pass the test in its present condition?
It seems like the problem needs immediate attention.
I have seen a bent damper rod causing similar conditions to what you describe, and I expect if something in the steering was not secured tightly it could cause same,
so best to check all previous work.
