    lol "never bite the hand that feeds you" its the hand that wrecked you car full stop! i dout many people would use them again after that ,but at least you won this battle but the war isn't over yet ,if that was there workmanship then, whats it going to be like when they attempt to rebuild it? if vw said you needed a new engine then thats what you should get, in my opinion anyway

    Wow! Hats off to the garage. Still seems odd that they would hold their hands up to a bad job... I mean it's great, but you don't expect it do you?! I reckon you can't say fairer than that but you would want some sort of warranty on the rebuilt engine... even if it's just a couple of hundred miles? Just to make sure nothing else falls off, really...

    The garage has presumably had some issues lately that it is willing to hold its hands up.

    Whatever - phew!

    Thats good news mate, glad it all worked out. It is rare to find a garage that will admit to getting it wrong.
