Smokey Bora

My bora TDi recenntly had some flood water in it, it wasnt super bad as i got it started the same day but ever since it has been chucking a white smoke out the back on a cold start up, but once warm it runs fine. the turbo would also cut out on a long journey but turning it off then on again sorted it.

i have been reading threads on here trying to get some ideas and have sorted the turbo by disconnecting the EGR and blocking the hose, it runs even smoother and quicker now.

anyone got any ideas what the smoke could be? and am i going to need a new EGR?

I think you may have some water left in the intake system, most likely place is the intercooler as it not gone away yet. Is is alway white smoke which indicates water?

would it still be in there after 2 months? it smells of oil. although i havent had to top the oil level up.
