    Looking at doing a oil change on my A6 7.7 tdi Quatro (2007), there are 2 drain plugs, what are they both for?

    As mine is a 2005 V6 TDi it has the bigger sump plug (yours will differ size/look) but location should be same on yours.



    Green lines oil level sensor, red circle engine oil drain plug.

    Is yours auto? if so the very first one when going further back is the ATF oil drain and further back is the refill point.

    You've got the biggest Diesel engine out there(7.7)��������.
    On a more serious note it would also be a good idea to replace the sump plug alen key bolt when changing the oil.You'll notice it has a silver washer that gets squashed when tourqing the bolt up to create a seal between head of the bolt and the bottom of sump.I did my oil yesterday and changed it.It's only £2 or £3 for a new bolt and the silver washer should come with oil filter.Good luck.

    Can you tell me what size hex socket it needs? I have a 3.0 tdi v6.
