    Help required

Airbag light takes a wee while to go off

have checked with my mates computer thingy (not sure of brand) no fault stored

got a local garage to stick his snap on computer onto it, again no fault found. He even looked at the dash panel (via the snap-on machine) to see if it fired anything up. Nowt.

on both occasions the car was check after the light went out AND with the car running and the light still on

    any suggestions?

Hi Tony. Dont worry about it. If you leave the ignition in position 1 for more than 6 seconds before starting the car then Airbag light usually will stay on because from what an Audi technician has told me the ECU reacons you are not moving and puts the airbags into a state of standby. So they are not fully active but as soon as the road wheels turn the airbags will be activated again but the light doesnt always go out.

In other words if it stays on just start the car quicker next time. But the airbags will be fine especially if they have been double checked.

Hope this helps as it took me a long time to find this info.

    Regards

    Tony,

like d4ncj says, if it is only on startup don't worry. I had ithe light on for l10-30 seconds, or coming on for a few seconds after driving away. Lots of time at the dealer. In the end it was cured by a new dashboard wiring loom (allegedly).

Just keep your eye on it.
