    Hi
Quick question about the tape player of the symphony II.

Does it have a separate audio output?
If I insert a tape and connect something else to that possible existing audio output will I hear something?

    Cheers

    Jack

    Not sure what you mean?

Do you mean one of those cassette adaptors which can connect to an mp3 player?

NO I had one of those and it
    1) produced an awful sound
    2) killed the tape player

What I want to do is use the tape player connections to connect my MP3 player
Theoretically speaking ti should be possible but practically it might be a different situation.

And yes I have heard about those box you can connect to the Symphony but they are a bit expensive.

Have you looked at the FM transmitter for MP3 players? A mate has one and it's pretty good. He plugs it into the MP3 player (very small) and selects a frequency, then he just tunes the radio into it.

No wiring etc, very neat little gadget.

Yes I had a look at one of those and it might be my full back plan.

It is interesting that there is not a lot of knowledge about what I'm trying to do.

I want want to patent it if it work

The tape head audio circuit is not like a normal Audio input, it has a specific set of equalisations applied to it to make it work.

These would make a normal audio signal sound very strange if applied directly. I wouldn't have thought it was worth the effort to compromise this circuit, when you can get various adapters that would do a similar and much better job through the CD Changer input.
