Was wondering if people like them really... I'm a little unsure!

Haven't got any on my current, but I did buy some for a previous motor. I too wasn't sure when I brought them, but I actually really liked them. They didn't project out as much as I thought they would, and they were quite easy to fit.. would def consider some for my A6 - if I ever get it running right that is =]

Not for me, they mess up window regulators prematurely.

I have them on my Allroad. I mainly have them to allow opening of the window while raining. They are great for keeping that stream of water that runs over the door frame and into the window out when it is raining.
They are a bit creaky when putting up the window. Mine have also jammed the window shut where I had to open the door when coming to a toll booth - but this later turned out to be dirt.
I agree with A6-Chris that they do put extra pressure on the window regulators. I don't find them noisy - in fact they cut down wind noise on mine.

Surely depends on whether you actually NEED them, IMO 'looks' are immaterial since (to me at least) they conjour up thoughts of an old boy with a flat cap towing a caravan.

No flat cap or caravan here, although I suspect trying to tow one with a Fiesta would be entertaining.

I've got deflectors fitted, had them on the last car, got them on this one - they're a godsend for me.

Where possible, I like to have fresh air instead of air con so most of the time I have the window open just a smidge, rain or shine and that's why I use them.

I haven't noticed any increased noise - I think those that do tend to either have them fitted incorrectly or use cheaper deflectors that don't fit/seal properly.

Can't comment on the regulator thing - I had them on for 3 years with no issues but it was a new car.

The ones I have are from these - http://www.climairuk.com/home.php?cat=6
