    Hi all

I'm seriously considering buying a CC and have seen at main dealer a 2.0 2009 GT TSI 4dr 47k miles for sale at £10.5k that I like the look of.

The problem I have is that I don't have a history of buying VW's so don't really know what I should be looking for when checking whether the car is worth buying or not. I also cant find a lot of info about the reliability of these cars in particular the TSI engine.

I would really appreciate any advice you may have for a newbie to check before buying and if there is a buyers guide on the forum could point me in the right direction that would be great.

    Cheers

Not been on here for a while but i have a diesel CC and not a TSI powered version. Mine is a 170 CR and is a nice drive. Plenty of power and torque and good economy.

Very smooth and responsive, much better than my old 170 Passat Estate.
If it ain't broke leave it alone!!!

I'd type "vw 2.0 tsi timing chain" into google before you buy.

Hi there ive been extremely happy with my CC ,mine is a 2.0 GT170 DSG, One of the main things is as with any car look for really good service history and invoices for everything the car has ever had.

My car had excellent service history apart from some idiot forgot to change the DSG oil, I had it changed and will have it changed again at the next service because it was very dirty and they cant do a full change on the oil its only ever a part change as they cant drain all the oil out.

Since I've had the car I have been sorting some little bits out that I wasn't happy with mainly cosmetic and preventive servicing like having a new cambelt and pulleys and water pump fitted.

There's nothing gone really wrong in my first year of ownership apart from 2 days ago the front spring broke on the suspension. This is a pretty common fault as a friend of mine has had 2 springs go on his 08 plate, mine is a 59 plate, this is something that would be hard to detect when buying a car!

How did the viewing go did you end up buying it ?
