Dashboard Intermittent Buzzing Noise

Hi

Earlier this year I purchased a 2011 A6 (Facelift) 2.7Tdi S-Line Spec Ed. I love the car, except I have one really annoying issue which the Audi Dealership just cannot fix or they "pretend" not to hear it!


1. I have an intermittent electrical buzzing sound that comes from the dash on the passenger side (maybe from behind the glove box), normally when I'm accelerating. - I think it sounds like something buzzing or resonating - I have it booked into the dealer for a forth time to investigate. (1st time they did nothing, 2nd time they proceeded to insulate parts around there, 3rd time they re-aligned the glove box).

I had a few interior passenger door trim issues - basically sounds like plastic is rustling around when I drive on certain types of road surfaces.

I'm just interested to see if anyone else has experienced such issues with their C6, and I'm really starting to get frustrated with the Audi Dealership and UK customer services as these issues are not something I would expect from Audi.

Have you tried asking a friend to ride in the passenger seat and apply preassure to bits of the dash/trim once you've managed to get the car to do the noises through a drive?

Tis the easiest way to diagnose but defo a two person job, in mine it was left hand side of the windscreen rubbing on the dash, so applied some foam when had screen replaced and it's now not there!

Is it def coming from behind glovebox but not engine side?
I also have started hearing what I call a fluttering sound or ticking sound and like you, only when accellerating

Thanks MarkTM - I think that's my only hope now. The Dealership just called me and basically they can't get it to make the noise. :-(
Its funny how 99% of the time I drive it I hear the intermittent buzzing.

Akash - Its more of an electrical buzzing noise, or something metal resonating...i'm thinking the Grill that runs across the windscreen as Mark has suggested.

I have the same... The buzzing comes from just behind the instrument cowling . It buzzes at standstill in gear. There is no buzz in neutral. So when I depress the plastic trim bit just before windscreen the buzzing stops
