For the first time since 2009 I've acquired a set of alloys and winter tyres for the A6.

I think I got a good deal, the alloys (genuine, off a B5 A4, 17", 5x112, 57.1mm bore and there were 5 of them!!) came with excellent Kumho tyres and centre caps which I have now sold as I don't need them. These were £250 but sold the tyres for £150 so wheels = £100.

Tyres I came across a bargain (I think!) on eBay, 225/50/17 Continental WinterContact with 5.5-6mm on all 4 for £155 delivered. Ironically these came off another 4F too.

So £255 for a pretty decent set which will keep my 19s in their now good condition.

    Bargain!!

I've got the TS850's on the Jaguar and they're pretty impressive so guess yours are similar, because of it's limited miles this year they've stayed on all year round.

Are your winters 'extra load' as thought they had to be for insurance purposes as are on my Dunlop 3D's booked in for swapping over next week (although I may well delay if it stays warm...and the Daily Express is wrong). 15 degrees here in Somerset today when driving

They are indeed XL, made sure and checked with the seller before hitting buy.

Dropped down here to 5deg last night, up again this afternoon to around 10/11 so will hold fire for a couple of weeks yet. Least now my Michelins will last a bit longer now!

That is exactly the same alloys I use for my winters. I have Toyo Snowprox tyres fitted.

Like you Chris I will hold off a couple of weeks till I fit them.

    Nice bargain Chris.

I can't see me bothering to get my winters on either car for a few weeks yet. Which is handy as I'll need to preserve all the tread I can for my month of skiing in January in France.

    Use E-bay!
Although I do actually have some German, it was irrelevant - I just searched e-bay by part number and looked at what came up.
The company involved fairly obviously sold wheels and tyres as a business, so after a while of looking took a punt.

I had no idea what they sent me about the delivery - to the point I mixed them up with a small package ordered from Amazon and asked the delivery firm to put it in my 'mailbox' !
It was much faster than I expected and all went smoothly!!

Got the Continentals mounted today after a tight squeeze getting 8 tyres into the A3.

Never knew these had a rim protector.

Just waiting now for the temp to drop and then they'll be on
