    Hi all

Test drove a very low mileage 3 door 2 litre petrol SE Auto earlier. Lovely little car and extremely comfortable leather seats with loads of head and leg room.

Are the petrol models for this year generally hassle free? Anything especially to look for?

Seriously thinking about making an offer on this car.

    Cheers

Have pondered a manual but considering how much time I spend in traffic on my way to work am far happier with an auto. Presume that's a personal preference rather than a warning regarding the auto box?

    What year was yours Martynas26?

Over the years, as with most things, the DSG box has become more refined and reliable. You must ensure that it has been serviced correctly - that is that the DSG oil and filter has been changed every 40000 miles. If it hasn't, I would steer clear of the car for fear of a big bill at a later date or, if you have road tested the DSG box as best you can and it seems ok, get a discount to compensate against any future bill (which could be a few thousand). I seem to recall that one of the issues with the earlier DSG boxes was that it would not be smooth when reversing up an incline - so you could test for this as a starting point.
