Just wanted to share a good story as most on here are problems.

Booked in for Service/Timing belt/Brake fluid change at local Audi dealer.

I rang day before to cancel the belt as its not due for another 10k or so and funds might have been tight end of month.

Left the car with them for the day and on return was told the tech had done the belt in error and I wasn't to be charged!!!

    Score!!!

I love that line..."belt done in error "

Well done, am sure they made enough to loose that freebie in the figures

Had my Alternator replaced last month by local mechanic who changed the Aux belt (I had one spare) charged me £30 in total.

    What Audi charge for service?

Audi or any Indy will tell you that the front bumper has to come off for the alternator to be changed, it doesn't and can be done from underneath...it's tight and does require quite a bit of manoeuvring/swearing, but possible

That's a good price you paid, I do my own oil/filter changes and Halfords did my coolant and brake fluid for £54 last year

Did the aux belt myself a while back. Some swearing and torn arms but not removals required as you say

I was expecting to have to pay but I had chewed him out of it over another issue and this was almost his way of calming me down I think lol
