My 2003 A4's drivers seat is christmas crackered. There is virtually no support and my back kills me even on short journeys.

I need better support and hopefully lumbar support.

What are my options people? Are there specific plug and play donor options? Current trim is black leather.

    Hi,

Does your car have lumbar support currently? If so then it is possible that one of the vertical supports is broken - happened to me - you can replace the piece but is a very difficult job - have done it a few times -(you have to take the covers off the seat etc) or get a replacement seat on ebay/breakers yard. Latter is probably the easier job but more expensive.

Thanks for replying. No it doesn't have. Ideally I'd like a replacement that does but if the best I get is a firm 'origonal' seat that would do me.

Looked up Etka and it appears you need part number 8e0 881 705 A (though check with audi if you are ordering) - cost is about €80. As said before you may need to take the seat cover off to fit but take off the back of the seat and see if you can get at the back support points where they connect with the seat frame without removing the covers.

    Good luck,

    W.
