    Today I started my Allroad A6 2.7 TDi quattro and a glow plug warning light appeared on the dash. It was flashing. I connected it to VCDS and the error is "Throttle Valve stuck or difficult to move". The engine revs sound like it is pulsing or there is somebody playing a tune with heavy base. When I open the bonnet I can hear a very fast ticking sound coming from the front right area of the car (passenger side).

    Looks like my throttle valve is gone. From some research online it seems like the usual Audi thing where these throttle valves fail regularly on the A4, A6 and Toureg but Audi don't offer any assistance.
    I cannot see a part number for it.

    Does anybody have a part number for a throttle valve for a 2006 A6 Allroad 2.7 TDi?

    Hello Motionpotion,
    you will need to check whether it's a 4 pin connection or a 5 pin. The 4 pin is 4E0 145 950 H.

    Cheers

    Just pull the electrical cable plug off and look into the socket and see how many pins are sticking up.

    I looked up the German VDO site and it gives both 4 and 5 pin options. All you have to do is enter your engine code, like BPP. The link is here; VDO Webcatalog

    I managed to squeeze the camera in to snap a photo of the connector underneath without disconnecting it. It looks like I have 5 wires into the cable so presumably I have 5 pins on the other side. Hopefully this helps somebody else trying to decipher this part.

    1 = blue
    2 = brown
    3 = black
    4 = white
    5= red

    Mine has 140000 on the clock. I'm expecting another 140000 on it.

    The new throttle valve was fitted yesterday. Is there some reprogramming that I should have done because VCDS says no faults at the moment after fitted.
