New car cancelled by Audi Uk

Just got a phone call tonight from West London Audi to say Audi had cancelled 105 orders for Audi A6 ultras. My Black Edition Avant was to be here in October. Now being told it will be the New Year at the earliest,which is what Belfast Audi had originally quoted. They have said I can wait, or get my deposit back. My wife says to wait, so does my heart, but my head says **** them and go and buy a 3 series. Not very happy at the minute. What do you have to do to buy an Audi A6 Ultra.??

Wow, what a shocker.. When did you place your order?? I ordered in July and was given a build week of 36 and a rough delivery date of early to mid October so am worried now.

Err yes, very worrying. I ordered July, had a build week of 38 and then advised of build week 37. Delivery mid-late October.

Could it be that these cars are all excess to available production prior to the facelift. Can't see why they would cancel orders unless the spec was changing and therefore the existing orders were no longer possible to build due to the new spec and options. For instance, based on what they have done with the A7 perhaps BEs (and S-Lines) will be getting LED headlights as standard yet the current order spec will say Xenon. I agree it is very frustrating but you may end up thanking Audi if you get a facelift car

I feel your pain mate, that is absolutely shocking, you expect better from a name like Audi.

I had a long phone call with a Dealer Principal tonight, Audi seemingly underestimated demand for the Ultra engine. I am in a similar boat, and test drove 5 Series Tourings and E Class estates, hoping I'd like them as much as the A6, unfortunately not though so I am at their mercy also.

How disappointing... It seems rather odd to me that Audi would cancel the orders rather than advising of a slip in delivery date and offering the customer the right to back out of the agreement to purchase and receive a refund of their deposit.

Depending on your personal situation this could really leave you in the lurch - for example an existing vehicle on a lease contract that needs to be returned.

I'm tempted to suggest that you have a discussion with Citizens Advice Consumer service to find out what your rights are. It could be that this becomes a matter for Trading Standards.

Incidentally if you were buying the A6 for room and comfort then you'd need to look at a BMW 5 series (and I believe the ride can be a bit harsh).. the 3 series is A4 sized.

Just to add, the Black Edition has disappeared from the A6 Avant & Saloon configurator.

RS6 pulled from the configurator and orders not being taken too. Facelift incoming imho.
