    i been told i need a new engine ecu and cat the car passat 1999 1.8t aeb.it lost power and is what i have told is some sort of limp mode??.at the same time it dump unburnrt fuel and fryed the cat.does anyone have any idea how much this all going to cost me i have been giving price,s around the £1500 for all the parts and labour.it,s still a good car 90k average condition.

    i cant see why you would need a new ecu unless its programed to the engine. but still £1500 seems very expensive

    Try ebay! I'm sure its not hard to fit an ecu.
