My engine in my 1.8t is no more, have found out that one of my valves has inbedded into a piston. the car cut out at low revs at about 10mph never to start again. There were no pryor warnings so it has come as a shock. So.... do i rebuild, replace the engine or get a quattro???? I dont have the tools, time or vast knowledge to rebuild or replace myself so any ideas peeps?????

Get a quote for a re-build and compare that with the Quattro cost?
Suppose you could go down the replacement route with a 2nd hand engine, but if you can't do it yourself it may still be expensive.

I guess it depends on how much you like you present car. The other thing to consider is "better the devil you know".

    Good luck with the decision.

I would think buying a good second-hand engine will be the cheapest option then may be a rebuild but to by a quattro may be the costly end of your options but then you could break up the old car.
