The last twice we have got a car for the weekend. The last time I wanted to try the 245 and the bitdi back to back. This was no problem from my local dealer. Picked up the first car on Friday lunchtime then swapped them over on Saturday afternoon and returned on Monday morning. All arranged through our local dealer who I must admit give a great service whenever I have been in. The biggest disappointment was getting back into my old car!! Ordered the new one about a week later!
Current- A6 C8 40 tdi quattro s line Daytona Grey
    Gone-S3 sportback, A6 C7 biturbo saloon,A4 B 8.5 avant, A6 C6 3.0 tdi Quattro saloon, A6 C5 2.8 Q Avant

I used to manage a fleet of over 600 cars, replacing about 200 each year and we'd routinely get cars for a week or even a month to enable several users to test drive the car (or in some cases for the Fleet Manager to avoid P11D declarations themselves - not me I hasten to add). It's commonplace even with the smallest fleets for drivers to be able to have an extended test drive over 3 days or so using the employer's insurance.

Unless you have a good rapport, the private individual normally doesn't command that level of service from the manufacturer (or dealer).
