Is it possible to arrange an extended test drive with Audi? I presume this is down to the dealer - who may be trying to evaulate how serious a buyer is asking, but assuming that one is genuine, is this a common thing?

A simple 10 minute drive around the block that I was once given (with an Audi A3) seemed to prove very little. 45 mins or so would enable one to get a real feel on various different types of road.

Obviously staff costs are quite high, and some other mfr's shout about 24 hour test drives.

But when trying to chose between different engines, I think real experience is the only way to tell. I'd probably be happy to pay (cost of wear & tear) to take test multiple drives.

I suppose it would be dependent on how helpful the salesperson was so maybe go through the website?

Test Drive Form < Arrange a test drive < Contact us < About Audi < Audi

Might be easier to arrange the spec/model you want too.

EDIT: I guess I should have checked the A6 was available

Must be down to the facelift… maybe contact Audi UK directly then?

A full morning on your own? I'm a little worried that my local dealer is beginning to suspect that I'm unlikely to buy from them at their inflated London prices, so may not want to invest too much time in me!

I had an RS6 for the whole day from our local dealer with no fuss. In the end i never bought the car from them but decided to go down the road the Sterling as I saved a few thousand on the same spec car.

I saw this when I was in the process of acquiring my car. I assumed it would mean that someone from Audi would take responsibility for ensuring that I was able to test drive the type of car was interested in. Maybe that there was a pool of cars Audi could make available to dealers.

I was wrong. All that happens is that Audi pass your details to a dealer who calls you and offers you a drive in whatever they happen to have available.

Waste of time, might just as well talk to the dealer(s) direct.

I had a BE for most of the day. Didn't even ask for it but the dealer suggested it. Ended up placing an Order at the same dealer.

Depends on the value of the car as I've had sub £25k cars for a long weekend, these were arrange through the flet dept of my company though and you could only book them if you had a car as part of your contract...therefore you could defo afford it.

Longest I've had a car privately for test drive was 3 hours otherwise.

Couple of days with an RS6 was not a problem for my dealer. They ordered the car in from AUK.

However I had already placed a deposit at that time, and had previously purchased a vehicle from the same group.
