Hello all, just after some advice or knowledge.

Have a 1998 1.8 Passat and it failed MOT on emissions ... Anyway I took the car and had my mechanic fix it. He replaced the shot cat and also gave it a full service.

Took it back for a retest and the emissions were even worse I have posted both results below.

    Test 1
    CO - 2.685
    HC - 279
    Lambda - 0.943

Test 2 (After replacing Cat and Service)
    CO - 7.620
    HC - 402
    Lambda - 0.733

What else could be wrong? There are no warning lights on the dash, the car is running like a dream.

Get your mechanic to scan the car and check all the pipework and vacuum lines
