I have received my Polo BlueGT, not a great start as the navigation didn't work - I was given the wrong SD card. - Now replaced and works fine so im happy.
It ordered it with Mirrorlink thinking it was an android technology and would work with a Samsung S4. I have searched google, youtube and cant get anywhere.

I wondered if anyone would be able to shed any light.

I took delivery of a new Polo a few days ago. I had heard that MirrorLink was being pulled but mine had already been installed with it.

I have just tried it with my HTC One (M8) phone and it works brilliantly - until the car starts to move! As soon as the car starts moving the screen goes black with one line of text across the middle "This app is not available while the vehicle is in motion" (or something very similar).

My dealer didn't charge me for the facility but it is so frustrating in its present state. It was one of the main reasons I chose a Polo. I have tried Google Maps, TomTom app and Spotify so far. None of them work.

I think only certain apps are compatible with Mirrorlink while you are moving. I'm also not sure that all Android phones are compatible.

Has anyone been able to get MirrorLink working in a Polo yet? I am assured by Volkswagen it should be working but I can't get even their own apps to work while the vehicle is in motion. I'm even prepared to change my phone if that will help.

Mirrorlink is only supported by certain phones, all of which are Android at the moment. The chances of getting an iPhone to work with it are about as likely as Apple being nice to Samsung, seeing as it's not a propriety system that they can control. The system is supposed to come to Windows Phone at some point, and Microsoft's in-car system is based on the technology but not yet available. It'll probably be coming with WP10, in the next year or so.I know that quite a few of the newer Sony handsets will work with it, and the Z1/Z2/Z3 are all pretty great, but I'm not sure about other phones. Re apps, only certain apps are digitally 'signed' to work with the vehicle in motion. What those apps are, however, I have no idea.

My HTC One M8 is officially compatible and it works fine until the car starts moving at which point no apps work, not even the Volkswagen ones. I was hoping someone could confirm it works for them especially as VW are now offering it as an option on Polos again.
