    Hi guys,

I have been told need to replace the caliper slider bolts in my 2007 A6 Avant to stop the annoying clunk under braking. I have done the usual google search and have not got anywhere with finding some. Does anybody know where I can get some from?

    Thanks!

    Who told you?

Have you tried a main dealer (although suspect you can only buy the whole assembly)?

If you have FN3 front brakes then I suspect you have had the pads changed recently and the person that did it has not fitted the correct side in each caliper. There is an arrow on the inner pad that mus point in the direction of rotation of the wheel.
If it does not then every time you brake there is a single 'Clunk' form the front brakes. Regards Peter

I have had the pads replaced recently but have now been told that it is the caliper sliders that are worn and they only come as part of the calipers etc from main dealers only. £1100 to fix!
    Not so sure myself...

View the link that joedredd has posted in post 3 I think you'll find they are available on their own.

View the data sticker either in your service log or spare wheel well for your brake system PR code, some tech data in this post Link:- Pads need replacing - would anybody recommend Pagid?

You are not listening GT-Andy. Tell us what front calipers you have. Caliper slide pins in many calipers have do metal to metal contact and do not wear. Regards Peter

    GT-Andy

If I am reading this thread right they (Peter & Zollaf) are advising that your brakes may not have been reassembled correctly after your pad change which has led to your current issue.

Also, if it's the same place that's now advising you that new slider pins are needed, they should be made aware that possibly their error and responsibility to put right.
