Long time lurker, but this is my first post. Have read with eagerness all the threads whilst awaiting for my new A6 BE to be delivered, and when it came end of July I couldn't be happier. I only got to drive it for 6 days before going on holiday for 3 weeks.

On the drive back from the airport Wednesday morning, I got the dreaded jerking and "Gearbox Malfunction" warning...made worse that it was 3am! Parked the car, and tried again the next day after some much needed sleep. Safe to say, it was "goosed" as per other threads I have read. It's leased by my company, but I have been passed onto Audi for resolution, given how new it is. Audi Liverpool are still diagnosing the issue, but early reports suggest a new box is required from Germany

I was given an A3 yesterday as a replacement, but complained so an A6 Avant is to be delivered shortly while I wait. So, there we have it....with just 285 miles covered, this is how my beloved new car left me yesterday morning. Totally gutted.

Wow… is it an Ultra? Gutted for you, a few others on here have recently had issues with their gearbox. Not sure what options you have with the lease, but have you decided if you want it back?

    Sorry to hear this.

I am getting a little worried now, 3 reports already and how many more, we don't know. Do you think Audi are going to do some sort of recall?

UGH this does not seem to be isolated. I feel for you, but at least you get an A6 to use (and an Avant which will be a different experience).

You gotta start wondering if this whole business with "not taking any more orders for ultras with S-tronic boxes" is related to this. If there is something amiss with that gearbox - whether it is design related or a manufacturing process wobbler - they will need time to diagnose root cause and rectify before churning out more boxes. And if I were in Audi Quality Control at the assembly line I'd also be pushing already manufactured boxes that are waiting to be fitted to vehicles back for additional checks. It all results in reduced vehicle manufacturing output and delivery delays.
A6 allroad BiTdi (MY14, July 2013 - DAB & power tailgate). Glacier white, tech pack (HDD Nav, colour DIS, Parking Plus), sports seats, 4 zone climate, heated seats front and rear, ambient lighting, 75L fuel tank, adaptive Bi Xenon headlights

It might not be much comfort, but all the failures on here seem to have been very quick.

Sorry to hear this. Surprised you are being asked to deal with Audi UK on this, would have thought it should be the leasing company and depending on their size they will probably have much more clout with Audi than you to get a speedy resolution

I think there is some comfort (for others at least) to be taken from this comment.
