i have a standard gamma radio and every time i turn the car on i have to turn the radio on seperate, is this normal. then it either comes up learn or safe. if it comes up learn i just push number 1 and it brings up my saved radio station, does the radio need setting to stop this, i dont have the radio manual to check. when it comes up safe i dont touch it until it beeps but sometimes it asks for the code which i dont have. does this happen to anyone else and how do i sort it.
and do you know how i can get the code.
    thanks

also my radio dont hold its memory, for instance if i was listen to a cd say track 12 then turn the car off, when i start the car and select cd it will be on cd1 track 1 any ideas

Mine says "safe" when the buttons (radio preset buttons) are removed and the radio is turned on.. Maybe its a bad connection between the buttons and the radio.

When you turn the radio on without the buttons it says "Safe"

When your radio says "Safe" it doesn't see the buttons. When you press 1 you are making the connection hence the radio starts working.

It sounds as if you have lost the permanent 12v feed to the radio. If you are on the original wiring check your fuse box for a blown fuse.

If the wiring is not original you should have a switched 12v feed and a permanent 12v to the radio with the ignition on. If you haven't that's your problem.

Just to correct this, I was mistaken.. when the buttons are removed it says "safe" behind them... but on the display it says "front missing" or something like that.
