Spooky window opening 1998 A4 Avant

Hi y'all - any advice please.....
My driver and passenger windows open themselves in the middle of the night (and odd other times - usually raining !!) when the car is locked and alone (!?) At first I thought I had inadvertently pressed the keyfob button and the courtesy window function thingy was operating, but when it happened in the middle of the night, the keyfob was shut safely away in a drawer with no chance of being accidentally pressed.
I'm guessing it is something to do with this courtesy window function thingy (and I have heard of similar on golfs and passats). Is it possible to get someone with a Vagcom to simply disable this (fairly pointless) function ?

Thanks MalcQV - sorry I should have "searched" first. I'll blame newbie status for lapse in brainpower.
Sounds like I need to go in search of chafed wire as first step (once it stops p***ing down outside).
