Guys

Can anyone advise, Im having problems getting an insurance quote , I go to all these price comparison sites and type in my details , car reg etc, it does the search , they all come back with great prices but when I try to go ahead with the quotes, when they go over the quote on the phone they tell me my reg number brings up a 90 bhp model , I believe its a 110 as its a td red i , is there anyway i can find out ?

Ive been told if they qoute me on that , as i have given them the info and they quote me , this would be valid.


I obviously want to get best price possible , but dont want to be left with a useless policy.

Check the log book sticker for a three character alpha code, armed with that code we'll be able to say for sure what engine you have.

thanks for the reply but can you elbaorate a little, is this the sticker in the boot , as my log book doesnt have any stickers.Its a 1997 1.9tdi afn engine

thats fine! thats the engine code right there, AFN which means you are driving a 110 bhp, inform the insurance of this. you will probably have to contact the DVLA to get their database amended.

thanx guys I know its 110 but most insurers list it as 90 but others come up with 110 straight away . just wondering looks like im paying an extra 50 odd quid then.
