help please Audi A4 2005 newer shape heating help (new engine)

Hi All, i have a 1.9 tdi and the heating stopped working, soon after that the head gasket went. i got the head reskimmed and it would not hold the pressure so i dropped a new engine in it. i thought that the heating not working was a sign that the gasket was going to blow so when i got the new engine i thought that the problem would be solved.
can anyone help with this problem.
if i turn the cold air on and change to heat the heat will not come on but if i set the heat to say 25degrees and turn of and back on then i get warm air but not hot.
please tell me this aint a big job as i have run out of funds now

Take both pipes off the heater matrix and push the hose on and give it a bit of pressure until it is clearer, try to ascertain which way the normal flow is and flush it the opposite way to dislodge any debris.
You will know if its worked if the flow is very good when you have finnished.
