TT buyers guide

Hi all

Firstly I'd like to say that I have searched this forum for a bit of info on this but all I get is a thread about someone wanting to pay a deposit for a forum members car and pay the rest later or something. Obviously not what I am looking for

I own an a6 avant 3.0 tdi quattro le mans as my daily family run around.

Long story short is that I will be looking for a second car for either my wife or I to drive depending on our needs that day.

At first I thought about going down the classic car route maybe a tr6 or and old merc but reliability and practicality mean that's not an option.

Ideally it needs to have 4 seats (we have 2 kids) 7 and 9 years old

So I started looking at the TT! they seem to offer good value and im sure it's a good daily driver.

Thing is I know nothing about them

So what should I look out for and which model.

I've seen one or 2 of the newer 06 facelift versions which could fit my budget

Is the newer facelift a much better car.

Are the cheaper facelifts likely to have major Common problems.

Is there an engine which is better suited to short daily journeys

That kind of thing.

I guess I am looking up to about 8k

Like I say I have found 1 or 2 06 versions for this money on ebay they seem ok. But I wouldn't know!
