I bought my May 2013 Golf Mk7 1.4 TFSI used a few months ago with nearly 20K on the clock but in immaculate condition. It's on a service plan, the first service was completed by the original owner but the second service was due. Before I took it in I read the status of each controller using (genuine) Ross Tech VCDS and noted a couple of malfunctions - Address 08: Auto HVAC; Address 17: Instruments.

I haven't really noticed any problems with the instruments or air conditioning but I brought the VCDS reports to the attention of the Service receptionist and left the relevant printouts.

When I collected the car, in addition to confirming completion of the two "action" upgrades (45D4 software update to the ECU and 34F6 gear box oil change) and booking in for the rear shocks to be changed to get rid of the awful noise the dealer said "no other faults could be found by their VW diagnostic system".

Understanding that MK7 MQB support in vCDS is still in its infancy my question is can I trust the above report enough to go back to the dealer and demand some action?

As the dealership doesn't seem to be employing the sharpest techs (they omitted to reset the service indicator!) does anyone have any suggestions what may be causing the above faults?
