    Hi Guys,

Have a look at this image: http://www.impconcepts.com/vwpassatg...tcluster-2.jpg (Not from my car)

You can see there is a green icon on the left hand side of the screen.
I cannot find any information about the this icon but it does show up on the dashboard sometimes and then disappear after like 5 seconds.

Can anybody give me any hint?

    Kind Regards,
    Arturs.

Is your car automatic? It's to tell you to press the brake pedal before shifting the gear selector.

Noup, my car is manual but it has electronic parking brake.
    Can that be somehow related?

Thing is that this light does not come up when I insert the the ignition key or when I start the engine up.
It comes up at some random points and then disappear after couple of seconds.

    My thoughts were that
Red - TAKE IT TO THE GARAGE FAST!!!
Yellow - Think about the fault.
Green - Nothing to worry about, just info.

    Is this right?

I only had this car for a little bit more than a week so don't know most of the things about it

On my Audi a4 that sign was info about the state of the brakes, it only had red on the Audi (bottom of the range) but green i would think is giving you the ok, see if it turns orange a bit further on.

As per A6_Chris (1st reply) this is merely a put your foot on the brake advisory before putting it into gear. Has no other function tmk.

    Warning lights : Volkswagen UK

As the green version of the lamp is only present on a car with automatic transmission, perhaps you're seeing the yellow version?

Since you have an electronic parking break I have found that on my passat B7 if you don't put your foot on the foot break and press the switch down to take the parking break off that same light will stay on for a long as I have the button pushed. Otherwise I never see the light on. Hope this will be of some help

It's kind of enough that I know that this is nothing serious.

As far as I understood this is just a message and not even a warning so everything is good.

Thank you all for the info
