The cost of having a liber-t toll tag for use on french autoroutes has become more reasonable. So I ordered it. And it says I have to fit it in the 'mottled dark area' of the windscreen behind the rear-view mirror. Except my 2005 A6 3.0 tdi quattro doesn't have one of those. There is a dotted area but that's where the rear view mirror is attached (which I imagine houses the rain sensor too).

The documentation with the liber-t says "some cars have embedded sensors/metallic/athermic windscreens which restrict tag function on specific models (please consult your vehicle user manual or manufacturer).

I can't find anything in the manual. A search here only uncovers a thread I started some time back about problems with gps receivers and athermic windscreens!

    Does anyone know?

Looks like a consensus - so that's where it will go. Thanks all.
