    i need help???????? which mod will give best increse in performance.
    1=new exhaust manifold £200.00 aprox (ebay say about 25bhp increase)
    2=s/steel exhaust system £300.00(3-4bhp increase)
    3=jkf front mount intercooler £300.00(3-4 bhp increase)

    are these figures about right or not please correct me if wrong

    AND VERY IMPORTANT WILL BE STOCK ENGINE PARTS TASKE THE STRAIN OF THESE PARTS. I know i need upgraded acuator valve(forge) and i have up rated brake pads but what about the rest..????

    FINALLY======== the scorpion exhaust system i was looking at above is that a good make i cant find ANY ONE else who sells them i found sebring make just a back box but that costs about £270.00 seems silly jsut for increase in noise at that price

    Scorpion are okay, i have been looking into a new exhaust system for my 1.8t, the one i am swayed toward is the powerflow system. they look to be good value for money as well as giving a considerable more increase in power to other manafacturers

    Manifold may flow better but with a K03 you will loose bottom end power so unless you are going BT dont bother.

    Exhaust system is a good idea.

    FMIC will not gain any power you may even see a drop in 1 psi of boost but will keep the temp low and so prevent heat soak but once again if you are not going BT it not worth doing.

    What I would do first is have the car remaped as this will see big gains.

    Stock engine will take up to 330bhp before internals are needed.

    i heard (a wise man once said) every 10 degrees you reduce the charge temp by you will gain approx 2-3% power any engine any fuel. with a fmic you usualy shorten pipework too which normally compensates for any pressure drop. ( im a big fan of intercoolers ) + cooler air means you can run more advance/ boost. just my 2 pennys worth

    But with such a small turbo and larger pipe work he is unlikley to see the gains unlike a larger turbo.

    Missed that bit so as stated the exhaust would still be the best option and maybe upgrade the DV to a TT225 unit or go for an aftermarket unit like APR R1 as the DV's tend to fail after a remap.
