    Default Replacing air vent grille – 21-12-2011,10:15 AM
    I managed to break the front passenger side in-dash air vent yesterday - the one near the door pillar. Have ordered a new one, but they're outrageously expensive (£97 in the UK) and I don't want to damage it on installation.

    So, two questions:
    1. Any tips on how to remove the old one/install the new one. I'm expecting it just pulls out/pushes in but there may be more to this than meets the eye.

    2. Any suggestions for sensibly priced Audi parts?

    Anybody managed to remove this vent next to the door pillar without breaking it?
    I've found and lifted the two tabs inside the bottom edge and managed to get it 'rocking', but the knurled wheel for opening/closing is catching on the trim and I daren't pull any harder. (Especially if they're £97!)

    Is there a specific technique for wiggling the vent out?
