Had my key apart last night to replace the battery as I noticed that I had to be quite close to the car to get open the doors with the keyfob. Only took a few seconds to switch over the battery however afterwards I could not unlock the doors using the fob. In fact nothing is working on the fob, I can only open the drivers door manually with the key. My spare fob has not been working for some time so I can't use that one either.

Tried the various key sync suggestions ranging from press button once then unlock to resync (from audi handbook) to putting one key in the ignition and turn on the ignition then close door, lock, press button once then once again etc etc. However I am not getting anything no indicator flashes, nothing....

I have tried another battery and still nothing.

I have tried to connect with VCDS but whilst I can access the main modules ok (engine, gearbox, Instruments.)I cannot get a response from any of the below:

    09 - Cent. Elect.
    19 - CANGateway
    35 - Central Locks
    46 - Central Conv.

No water in the modules in the floor of the passenger side or the drivers side, all connections look good and clean.

Does this mean I have a bigger issue ? why has it suddenly started like this....

OK, spent a bit more time on this today.

This has all the hall marks of a duff CCM (Comfort Control Module)

I noticed that I could only unlock the drivers door with the key, it would not unlock any other doors. also the central locking switch on the inside of the door would lock all the doors but when I press unlock nothing happens.

Next I remove the CCM and check all the plugs are snug. Now the central locking switch on the insude works both ways and locks / unlocks all the doors.

So I plug in the laptop, when I try to select the central locking module -35 it does the usual on VCDS and tries to connect three times. Each time it tries the interior light relay clicks and the lights dim then come back again, this happens three times before VCDS Says it is getting no response from 35.

I think at this stage it would seem I need a new CCM, unless anyone has another idea ?
