    Wife called me while she was on the way home, said the car went bang.

    Yep thats a conrod in the bottom right! Its only done 100k and yes it had oil in it (which the tow truck driver wasn't so happy with as it ended up all over his truck)

    So looks like we need a recon engine, any recommendation around Surrey?
    (Love to know the cause, I thought these engines were bombproof????)

    OMG just googled BXE engine and conrod, seems to be a known issue?

    BXEs are fond of doing this if they've been on "longlife" servicing schedule, BLS less so I believe.
