On my 2003 Passat if I press the unlock button on the remote it will unlock the drivers door only, which I find a tad annoying, is it possible to alter this so that the initial press will open all doors, rather than having to press the button twice?

    Thanks in advance.

as i understand it, you need vag-com or someone with it, to access the computer to enable the function.
see if there is someone with vag-com near to you who will do it for a small fee.
    or try the ********.

    Ive posted this elsewhere!

Get the battery voltage checked. Poor car batteries can give central locking problems.

I could only open the passenger door with the key fob on my passat.

When the battery I knew was on its last legs was changed the central locking worked normally again.

One press opened the drivers door two presses opened the other doors.

Get a cheap Vag Com lead off ebay and download the softwear, if you have a Passat you will need it!!

With all due respect to everybody, telling somebody to go get VAG-COM isnt answering his question......If he gets VAG-COM, which settings does he have to change to get all doors (and possibly the boot) opening with one click of the keyfob?

    TIA

    Hi guys, I've just got a Passat (T reg) 1.8 SE 20v.
Is it correct that I should press the remote central locking once, to lock car, activate deadlocks and activate alarm ?
It's a bit different to other cars I've had, where you have to press remote twice to activate central locking, and alarms.
    Thanks.

Yes, however it does vary between model years.

I've had 2 B5s, the 1st a '98 one was one press to lock, deadlocks and alarm, 2nd press removed deadlocks and alarm, signified by led on drivers door not flashing.

the other a 2000 one, doesn't seem to do this with the 2nd press.
Nothing to see here, move along..
