superb 03 1.9tdi screeching noise when.on full lock plus climatronic not cooling

When on full lock either way get screeching off drive belt. Plus climatronic display shows -- where temp should be and isn't cooling. Is it just time for registering or bigger problem? I

it should say time for regas bloody predictive text

The screech could be;

Worn aux belt tensioner
Worn aux belt
Dodgy alternator pulley (do a search on here, lots of info)
Knackered steering rack, pressure release valves in the rack (unlikely though)

Aircon, as you have said, get it regassed and report back if no different.

Had belt and tensioner replaced when alternator tensioner snapped off last year it's only when on full lock no other time

Probably alternator pulley then starting to go.

Is you PAS fluid topped up and the correct type?

The older 1.9 tdi had a crank pulley that had a cushion of rubber that the steel ribbed pulley sat on,in this case it was driving the altenator only,the p.s. had a seperate
v belt. Sometimes the pulley could skid on this cushion causing squeal when high demand from was required. It might be worth a look to see if your model has
this type of pulley fitted. By marking the pulley and cushion you will see if the marks move.

If it is an 03 then 99% it has an PD (probably an AWX) engine which has the everything driven by one aux belt except the aircon compressor.
