    Hi,

I want to add an Aux cable to my Symphony stereo (6 CD changer) for 2004 A3. I managed to remove the head unit once with the extraction keys and then returned it but have now got three of the keys stuck and one of them won't catch (top right key)! See attached photo. I have tried to get the fourth key to catch by wiggling it around but no success. Took it to Halfords and they failed as well.

Any tips on removing a stereo head unit without extraction keys??

    Thanks
    Nick

the keys simply push a clip out of the way to allow it to slip out. there is no other way really that doesn't destroy the stereo or surround. instead of halfords try a proper place that sells and or installs stereo's. they may have a better clue than halfords.

Try pushing the unit on that corner, you might not have the radio clipped into the cage properly.

That picture looks like the top left key hasn't engaged with the clip. The key should go straight in and that one looks like it's gone in pointing downwards (or the other side is pointing upwards - it might be perspective.)

NickPicks- I think its the perspective. If I pull on the two keys that side of the unit feels like it will come out. Its the right side that is stuck. Cheers
