Hi guys, well I have decided on the Mark 4 Golf GT TDi.

Now I ant make my mind up on whether to go for the 130 or 150.

I plan on getting a remap eitherway... I just wanted to know what you reckon I should and the reason why.

The result of this thread will mean I will buy that model.

    All comments welcome cheers

Its in the MK4 golf forum now, no idea where you posted it before, however seeing its a mk4 golf you are talking about im sure this is the best place for it.

I had the same choice to make, and after reading some previous posts here I decided on the 130 - it seems a better all-rounder especially if you are getting it remapped. I spoke to my local chiptuner today and he reckons he can safely push 170bhp from my 130-pd

I didn't ask him about the 150 however I have read they only produce another 10hp or so.

There is no difference in insurance groups (Both group 13!) so dont let that sway you at all. (Either way both will still be the same when you tell the insurance company the car has been remapped)

If you want out-and-out power then yes the 150 would probably squeeze a few extra horses out but for day to day driving there wont be any real difference. Some people say the 150 is a slightly noisier engine (at idle anyway)

Good points mobitune thank you. Hmmmm so hard to decide.

I was thinking 150 purely because of the FMIC for (maybe) future tuning. Plus I would have thought the 150 would bbe better to remap as it takes into account the the better and larger FMIC when compared to the 130.

    Any comments?

The 150 Bhp Pd engine its a better option if you are looking for further tunning ...it has bigger valves, stronger conrods and pistons, thicker head gasket and stronger head bolts, bigger nozzles and a revized ECU , among other improved parts compared with the 130 PD. Swap the injection pump from a car with auto gearbox and be preppared for easy +200 Bhp with just a mild remap . Its wise to upgrade the clutch though !

the clutch would be fine as long as your not to harsh with it, i have had my 150 remaped and its brill, and the clutch is holding up fine and i have done nearly 15k on it

so whats the deal with swapping the injection pump from a car with auto gearbox. Can you explain a bit more, and how difficult is it to swap potential costs, etc

I cant see how a fuel pump would be different whether its a auto or manual.
