First a quick hello, I have just acquired a 2012 A6 Avant Quattro in Ice silver, coming back to the Audi fold after a few years, my last Audi being an S3 back in 2001. It’s a niceish spec with 20” alloys, Hard disk sat nav and the touch pad system. It’s just missing heated seats which I am looking into retrofitting having picked up an Air con the switch panel for a decent price which includes the seat switches, that would leave the heating pads, circa £160 per seat, the wiring loom, £45 from Kufatec, and possibly the BCM if it doesn’t have the pin outs for heated seats, plus fitting.

Getting to the point, I have had some Vagcom/VCDS mods done, the main one I wanted wasdipping passenger mirror on reverse, but at the same time had some other tweaks such as seat belt chime off, cornering lights, tourist lights, DRL switchable on MMI and a few others. As part of the service the fault codes were logged, one of which was the alarm not functioning. This turned out to be a missing fuse? Which I have now replaced and all is fine. Because of the missing fuse I thought I would check all the others. I seem to have some fuses where I don’t have the option, eg night vision, image processing camera and dynamic steering, but also 2 missing which are in the rear fuse bank in the luggage compartment, being fuses 1 and 2 in the red fuse holder for Belt Tensioners left and right 25 amps. Is this correct? On looking carefully at the fuse holder there isn’t any wiring going to these 2 fuse holders so not sure they are required?? Checking on an Audi technical document, the tensioners are controlled by the ABS unit, so wondering if these are for another region? If someone could check theirs for my peace of mind I would be very grateful.

I have added a photo of the rear fuse board in the load area, the hatch is to the right of the photo. If someone could check the rear fuse holder to see if the two fuses I have circled are installed or empty as mine I would be very grateful.

I find following the fuse lists in the handbook difficult given they list left and right hand drive, and it’s easy to lose track when you are flicking back and forth checking the photo of the fuse board, so I created these by scanning the handbook. Quality isn’t fantastic as I think I had low scan settings, but good enough for the time being. I will post up the dashboard ones also as they may be of use to someone. The 2 fuses I am interested in are highlighted.

If there are no error codes in the ABS module or if the ABS light is not illuminated when driving then I wouldn't worry too much as any fault (ie missing/blown fuse) would result in a warning light on the dash.

Maybe put 2 25a fuses in and see what happens?

What is your engine code? This is listed on the data sticker in the spare wheel well.

Thanks Chris, I tried putting a fuse in, but there are no contacts in the fuse holder, so I am probably worrying about nothing, but if someone could eyeball their red bank of fuses in the luggage area to confirm that would be great. There are no error codes for this on VCDS, so that supports the theory everything is ok.
