Considering getting my '02 Golf GT TDi 130 remapped, but before I do I would like to add some further goodies to help raise the power & torque.

Any suggestions as to which options I can go for? (I would prefer to keep the air filter system original and keep the engine bay looking standard)

How about injectors? high capacity lift pump? would these help?

I gather a FMIC may help, however as I dont intend "racing" this vehicle, will it make much if any difference on mainly low ish revs, say 1500-3000 rpm?

Finally, anyone had any experience with Aligator's ECU images?

    TIA

    Pete

Front mount intercooler from a '150' + some '150' pipework.

Turbo back, or CAT back, larger bore 'straight' exhaust.

    PD 'race' injectors.

Maybe a 3bar MAP, if you are raising boost much above 21psi.

Have not personally tried Alligator, but the tune seems good.

I don't want to draw attention to the fact the car has had work done to it, would upgrading the injectors and just fitting the 150bhp fmic while holding onto the standard exhaust system be feasable?

Aligator reckons he can get me 165bhp from standard setup "safely"

How much extra power would the extra mods give me?

You can get 185bhp from the stock PD130 with just a 'mildly aggressive' tune.

If you want a 'safe' tune, no hardware mods are needed.

Although a fmic will help keep the power up, but is not essential.

Your current injectors are good for over 230bhp.

Why dont you go for one of the switchable type devices, so that you can change your mapping from 'standard' to 'mild' to 'extreme' at short notice?

In this way you can return the car back to 'factory' whenever you visit the dealer etc.

It's not the dealers i'm hiding it from, its the dudes in tracksuits/hoodies

I don't want to stress the clutch, also I plan on keeping the car for quite some time, so dont want to be costing myself a fortune in repair bills in say 7-8 years time.

The clutch should be ok with 165bhp.

I would also investigate the solutions to the mk4 front door lock/windows down security issues.
