    Hello everyone

My Golf normally starts and drives around town ok but today after doing the Mr Muscle turbo vane clean as I've seen on various websites it barely turns over a couple of times and then stops turning over. I don't know if its just a coincidence that something else is playing up because nowhere mentions having trouble starting a car after performing this task.

It's recently fitted a new starter motor, battery and glow plugs so they shouldnt be a problem. Late last year it also had a new fuel filter, air filter and an oil change. Also for the last 2k miles I've been running the car on 80% new veg oil and 20% petrol but this has not caused me any trouble with starting and driving so far.

One problem has been low/no power after 3000-3500rpm. On the motorway/dual carriageway I end up losing a lot of speed - say 70 down to 50 on a moderate hill. This problem developed shortly after buying the car and about 5k miles before switching from diesel to veg oil and petrol.

The other potential problem is that the immobiliser light is always flashing when the ignition is on and sometimes says 'immobiliser active' or similar. However this has never caused me any problems with starting the car before and the previous owner said the same was happening for the year they owned the car.

Any ideas to what could be causing this will be much appreciated...

Is it possible the doors were open all the time the job was being done, thus draining battery. That is if door puddle lights are fitted.
