Is it a good engine though in your opinion? I don't do the miles for a TDI really.
    2002 Polo 9n 1.2 65PS. Basic but it's better than the train!

To be absolutely honest I am really concerned with this down sized boosted engine fashion, it is to give better figures to keep tree hugging green types less vocal on Co2 but that's not true in the real world as is being discovered. What worries me is long term durability knowing that the main bearings are the same as for a mid 90's 50BHP 1 litre Polo and the con rod bearings are not that much better whey they started at 86 BHP! I have already had two where the bottom end was knocking and there are no oversize bearings listed for repairs. I hope I am wrong because if I am not then it is going to cause me huge problems when these cars age. Take an example of one I am trying to help at the moment. They paid good money for a 15 year old car that looks nice but a week later it needs a new part that is £170 and they can't afford it. What is going to happen when these 1.4 TFSI engines are 7 years old and I turn round and say, sorry Mr/Mrs Customer but the engine is dead because it has done 100K miles on four oil changes, a new one is £3264.68 plus fitting and a pile of ancillary parts so at least £5000, and this is the current price, not in five years! There will be 10 year old cars going to the breakers or cars being bodged up and customers ripped off, blinded by a shiny paint job on a cheap Golf (yeh, init m8) and on top of this young lads are going to want to chip the living daylights out of them...I'm running for the hills

Well decided to keep the car for 12 month as low Mileage Took out the Extended VW Comprehensive Warranty with roadside assistance

Which is a good Deal at £271 with no excess. I was going to cost me £90 for the Roadside assistance with the RAC and that was reduced with VW .
    full price was over £100
