Did a search but didn't see this posted anywhere

Nice and cheap mod for the interior boot lights, using OEM Audi parts to replace the halogen units with LED units - quite a bit brighter than standard, and a much better colour.

Parts you'll need from Audi for each light - cost is around £13 in parts, so not the cheapest, but no errors show up in diagnostics, unlike some cheap LED bulbs.

    1. 1x 000979022E – Wire Set
    2. 1x 000979009E – Wire Set
    3. 1x 4B0971992 – Flat Connector
    4. 1x 4B0971832 – Light Connector
    5. 1x 8J0947409A – Light (this is the all-in-one LED unit)

Dead easy, and if I can keep a soldering iron steady with my Parkinson's Disease, then anyone can

I've done it now on a few Audi cars, and just used the pair I'd fitted to my previous A6 - completely plug and play. I'd broken the third one I used on our previous TTRS when removing it , so will order another set of parts to replace all three in the Avant boot

    A comparison:

Before - rather dull light and yellow colour

After - much brighter, and colour matches the other LED lights within the car

Thanks for posting, that looks great! The boot lights being the only non-LED bulbs in the car had been annoying me!

Wonder if any Audi dealer wants to do a bulk buy on them?

I am addicted to LEDs, buy, fit, remove, replace, resistor kit, fettle, buy, more, buy kits, fit, replace and so on. when I get them working, canbus error free the effect is so much better. Worry about them, no, worry about addiction, yes.

I opened the glovebox today... it's another non-LED bulb

Looks to be about the same size as the boot lights?

Did you get the parts? I'm just getting a quote for a few parts including this, so would be interested to compare pricing.

Has anyone seen this? Looks like Kufatec are now selling the LED lights and a pre-soldered cable:
