MFD - certain menus/options gone?

Hi all

i installed a OEM bluetooth unit over the weekend and all is well, but i have now noticed i have lost the menus for the white MFD, it only now gives me trip computer 1 & 2

i used to have trip computer 1 & 2, Sat nav directions, stereo info, telephone menu the options menu for convenience, lighting etc but have lost these, also the leaving home lights have stopped working?

Is it something i have done on vagcom?

Any help appreciated, only toys but i liked them.

Please help.

Will be something to do with vagcom, or you havnt plugged a wire into your RNS?

The loom i got stated it was just plug and play (Car Systems PL) and i am sure it was there this morning...... i think..... i did go out lunchtime and enable the MFSW voice tag as it was not working... could it be that thats has disabled some of the options.... in fact that does not work now either... think i may have stuffed up some where...

Hope you saved all your original settings before you started! Sounds like you just need to keep playing with settings before it will all gel together.

evening all.

Ok had a play today without much success with VAGCOM, but i did discover if i hold the up arrow on the left hand side the menu would appear... is this ususal.... but now the display is stuck on the phone screen, no matter how long i hold any of the buttons i hold it will not go back to the MFd options screen.

Could it be a faulty module? if so what module is it i need to replace and does anyone have info on it.

When I had my Bluetooth fitted, they installed the latest VW Module that works with iPhone4 etc, but this module will not work with the RED displays only White. So I’m wondering if you have a compatibility issue with the DIS and the phone module. Also I had to have a speech control installed as well, to make the bluetooth work from pressing the star button on the MFSW

The module i bought 7P6 035 730 G is supposed to be compatible. It is weird. on the way to work today it was stuck on phone only in the MFd then started o work, if only limited after an hour or so but i have lost all the options for leaving home/coming home set up... it is driving me scatty.

Is Gareth ok to offer free advice?

Gareth's firm fitted my Phone, Nav, Front Fogs, CAN Gateway, MFSW & DIS upgrade as well as a load of work on my wifes car. In my Passat the only thing that I missing the the lights & vision option in the set up menu, this is because I need to have the Central Electric Module upgraded as the current module wil not accpeted the coding required to activate the menu and I can not justify the cost of replacing it just to be able to set up the coming home lights.

I've just called Gareth today and had a chat about a few things and he was fine with me, best of trying to see what happens , make sure you speak to Gareth as he really knows his stuff, mention the modules you've got as you may have a compatability issue with some of the components. Name drop me if you need! Anything is worth a try.

Did you get you Nav sorted? worst case you can also use your VACOM to see how they set up mine!

Thanks for info, booked in to visit him on Saturday.

Last night i disabled Telephone '77' in the canbus... and the hands free/bluetooth still works thru the RNS510, downloads contacts etc, and I have some functionality back on the MFSW/MFD... Very weird!

Any way thanks for support, i will let you know how i get on.... But not looking forward to visiting HazzyDayz as i could end up spending more money

The joys of owning cars and wanting the toys! - my wife has now decided that she is feed up with her car (SEAT Altea) and now wants a VW Passat Estate, luckily enough the Nav, Bluetooth and MDI kit Gareth fitted in the SEAT for us can come out and be used in the Passat so at least that is some money saved!
