I have a 2009 a5 with hill start. The button for hill start labeled "A" next to the electric parking brake, needs to be selected to on each time I start the engine. Why is this ? I would love to keep it on permanently.

My wife's A5 and my A7 both save the setting from the last time it was used I.e. If the car was switched off and hill hold assist was on, it is on next time we go out.

Strange... I am in Dublin....dealer told me the primary park brake is the normal park brake switch and the secondary is the other switch (hold assist) which is always off after the car is turned off as a default.
