my blb engine is 2.0 tdi 16v with bosh injectors, and i have to solve this issue now, because sometimes, instead of paying to some guys, its better to put our own hands on work...

I've already purchased new sets of screws for the injectors and for the cam, and before buy the seal kits... in all the images of kits of ebay.... i see a weird thing!!!

Is not supposed to have copper washers to seal between the engine head and the injector?????
There is no kits for 2.0 tdi 16v engine with copper washers!!! is this normal??? ,only 2 plastic seals with top pin and gasket???

    please help
    regards

Before you pull the injectors you should try to establish if they are actually at fault.... if the issue is low fuel pressure it could also be a faulty tandem pump or possibly even the delivery pump in the fuel tank.

A dealer or specialist would test with a pressure gauge at the tandem pump. If pressure is being lost into the return line via the injector seals squeezing off the return line to restrict return flow should increase the pressure reading. Maybe you could test by sqeezing off the return between tandem pump and filter and see if this makes the car start easier?

The injectors have a tapered seat into the cylinder head so no copper washers in this application....the tapered seats need to be clean and inspected for damage before refitting the injectors.

    hello again..

the start of the car starts much more easier, if i squeeze the return diesel line beetwen the tandem pump and the filter!

    what could this mean??

    injector seal problem?

Right to me, I could be wrong but if the first start is hard (ie no fuel pressure) but the second start is ok, that suggests to me like its fuel pump related like chaser has said above.

Get the car to a specialist, you'll be here forever narrowing things down if you don't.

After this fix it and sell it.

it would be better to have actual pressure reading but it suggests that fuel pressure is passing from the supply to the return side via the injector seals.

After making a homemade pressure reader, checked the pressure at 4000rpm and the values are according with the specs.... and after this, i replaced all the injector seals and injector bolts, according with the documentation and also starter brushes....

now it runs smoothly and without any problem...

Many thanks to everyone, specially to c4a5er and A6_Chris

A good result...thanks for the update.
The issue is/was the time taken to build pressure at cranking speed rather than the pressure once running. Once running a healthy tandem pump can keep up with the lost pressure at the seals at least until it worsens and causes poor running.
